Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2012

Firefly Lighting Design are proud to have designed the lighting of the Restaurant & Bar Awards, held at RIBA on 6th September 2012.

The concept of a snake that would lead the visitor from the entrance space, up the stairs and into the 1st floor exhibition area where the awards were to be held was inspired by snakes that are visible in the art deco etched glass within the RIBA building.

The lighting concept was to bring this snake to life, through the use of colour and movement. The lighting integral to the snake was white when awards weren’t being presented, slowly animated when speeches were been given and went berserk when the winners stepped onto the stage to receive their award.
