Monumental architecture – Human-scale lighting
The Zig Zag Building in Victoria, has been named World’s Best Office at the World Architecture Festival 2016.
The Zig Zag office building forms part of Land Securities new £320 million mixed use development in Victoria. Firefly sought to bring a cohesive lighting strategy to all the buildings on the site as well as the public realm. The main reception ceiling has a geometric ceiling cove system designed by Lynch Architects and Firefly which has visual impact whilst retaining a level or restraint. On the bronze wall behind the reception desk Firefly utilised a painterly approach to enhance the hand finished material.

both buildings and the public spaces in-between, and beside them. They brought
to the project an incredible depth of technical, practical and artistic
knowledge and ability, and John and his team were a pleasure to work with. The
success of the project is a testament to their talent and skill and
